Final project

For my final project, I attempted to build a padlock from scratch. This was a difficult undertaking, as it involved me having to not only how each part of the lock works, but how to make it, and the dimensions it needs.
This took multiple iterations. Majority of the first models were made out cardboard for the larger parts, and wood for the smaller parts due to the greater strength, The main thing that needed tinkering initially was latch that moved when you turned the key, before welding the lock together, the final version worked mostly pretty well, but after welding it all together, it stopped working. This is probably just due to messing up a placement or something. Another cool part of the lock was the latch stoppers. Each moved up when you turned the key and allowed the latch to move back and forth. Each stopper was also filed down to different levels that corresponded to the notches on the key.
The final product was made using the laser printer for the Acrylic Top, and steel for the rest of the components, cut on the torchmate. The key was hand made and welded
